Mark Thomason - Deputy Head of Clinical Negligence
Mark joined Clear Law in June 2020 and he is responsible for the operational management of the department and works closely with Daniel Lee, the Head of Department, in the day to day management of the team. Mark is also involved in a number of projects across the firm.
Mark had a varied background in criminal law, costs and mixed PI before he completed his training contract at Lindsays Solicitors, specialising in clinical negligence. Mark qualified in May 2013 and went on to work for Nelsons Solicitors, a regional heavyweight in the Midlands, where he managed his own clinical negligence case load and assisted with severe brain injury claims. Mark then joined Your Legal Friend in June 2016 where he progressed to Deputy Head of the Department, along the way he settled a number of cases, most notably a six figure settlement for a fatal claim following a failure to diagnose a heart condition. Whilst at Your Legal Friend, Mark was also the department lead on delay in prostate cancer claims. Since his arrival he has settled a number of claims including a short bowel injury claim for £240,000.
Mark particularly enjoys working with complex and severe injury claims thriving on matters requiring an intricate analysis of causation.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys being outnumbered at home by his wife and two daughters. Mark used to be an avid squash player and still manages to get on court when he finds the time. He would also strongly dispute this statement but it has been suggested that he has terrible taste in trainers.
